The Gateway Advantage

What makes Gateway stand apart from our competition?

1. Flexibility - Gateway is the only deep water, privately owned, independent terminal operator in Connecticut. We offer flexible work hours to increase productivity and expedite turn around time in port.

2. Productivity - Offering two high speed FMC 2300 link belt gantry cranes, four material re-handlers, numerous loaders, and an experienced, professional work force enables us to off load vessels efficiently, economically and on time.

3. Location - Centrally located in Connecticut's New Haven harbor on the north shore of Long Island Sound. Our terminal is just (1/4) mile from major Interstates 91 and 95 for easy on/off truck access. IT IS ONLY 68 NAUTICAL MILES FROM NEW YORK CITY TO NEW HAVEN.

4. Intermodal - Featuring the state of Connecticut's only intermodal facility, Gateway offers direct throughput from vessel and barge to rail for cargoes destined for the Midwest, Northern New England and Eastern Canada.

5. Transportation - By water, road and rail, Gateway provides one port throughput. Gateway Towing and Gateway Terminal's trucking company provide the barging and trucking legs of our operation which allow us to offer an all inclusive transship operation.

6. Dry Bulk - Gateway offers a complete turn key operation for dry bulk commodities such as cement, coal, salt, pumice, sand, aggregate and steel, to name a few.

7. Liquid Bulk - Gateway operates a 650,000 barrel / 30 million gallon petroleum tank farm consisting of three types of diesel oil, kerosene, and liquid asphalt. Offering an eight (8) station loading rack, we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
